How to Distinguish Induction Heating Machine from Oscillation Frequency?

Update Time: May. 10, 2022

When heat treatment of various metals, be sure to choose a suitable heating equipment for processing. Most of the current users will use induction heating equipment, because it has a fast heating speed and good effect, and relatively speaking, it also saves time and electricity costs. When selecting equipment, we must first select the appropriate power, and at the same time, we must distinguish from the output oscillation operating frequency, and select the appropriate frequency to correspond to the appropriate heat treatment process.

At present, induction heating equipment can be divided into the following four types according to the output oscillation frequency:

1. Low frequency induction heating machine

The frequency range is about 0.4KHZ to 1KHZ, and the lowest frequency range among induction heating heating equipment. Sometimes we also call low frequency as medium frequency, like our SCR medium frequency induction heating machine, which can be made the power very big to 5000KW or even bigger to 10000KW. When we use it for heat treatment, the heating depth is relative deeper and thicker than others with a layer of about 10-20mm and it can heat very large metal parts too. In the heat treatment field, it is mainly used for overall heating, annealing, tempering and surface quenching of large metal parts. It also very good at melting and smelting steel, iron, stainless steel and aluminium etc from 20kgs to 10tons.

2. MF (medium frequency) or IF (intermediate frequency) induction heating machine: Models refer to ZG-MF & ZG-MF-B

The frequency range is generally about 1KHZ to 20KHZ, and the typical use value is about 8KHZ. The heating depth and thickness are about 3-10mm. It is mostly used for heating, annealing, tempering, quenching and tempering and surface quenching of relatively large metal parts such as large diameter shafts, large diameter thick-walled pipes, large modulus gears and other workpieces, as well as red punching and forging pressing of smaller diameter bars. It can also be used for smelting and melting for medium amount of copper, bronze, steel, iron, aluminium etc. From 1kgs to 500kgs.

3. HF (high frequency) induction heating machine: Models refer to ZG-HF

The frequency range is generally around 20KHZ to 150KHZ, and commonly used 40KHZ to 80KHZ. The heating depth and thickness can reach to about a layer of 1-2mm. It is mostly used for surface heating, red punching, forging pressing, annealing, tempering, quenching and tempering, surface quenching, small and medium diameter pipe heating and welding, hot assembly, pinion quenching, etc. for all kind of metal parts. It can also be used for smelting and melting for small amount of copper, bronze, steel, iron, aluminium etc. From 1kgs to 50kgs.

4. UHF Induction Heating Machine: Models Refer to ZG-UHF

The frequency range is generally around 200KHZ, and the frequency is relatively very high, we can say it is the highest frequency among induction heating machine. We have several models which can reach up to 1.1~1.2MHZ. The heating depth and thickness are the smallest, about 0.1-1mm. It is mostly used for quenching and welding of local extremely small metal parts or extremely thin bars, surface quenching of small workpieces, etc.

5. Super Audio Frequency Induction Heating Machine: Models Refer to ZG-SF

We sometimes called ultrasonic or super audio high frequency induction heating machine, whose frequency range is from 7Khz to 40Khz. The frequency range is generally from 7KHZ to 40KHZ (because the audio frequency is 20HZ to 20KHZ, so it is called super audio). Heating depth and thickness, about 2-3mm. It is mostly used for deep heating, annealing, tempering, quenching and tempering of medium-diameter metal parts, heating, welding, and hot assembly of large-diameter thin-walled pipes, and medium gear quenching, etc.
